Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 April 2026
This policy explains what data matthewkay.com collects, why, and how it's handled. The site is operated by Matt Kay (Matthew Kay Ltd), registered in England and Wales.
What I collect
Email address. If you unlock a sample chapter or join the book waitlist, I collect your email address. This is stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), my email platform. I use it to send you updates about the book and, if you've opted in, occasional newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Booking information. If you book a discovery call, that's handled by Cal.com. They collect your name, email, and any details you provide when scheduling. I use this solely to prepare for our conversation.
Local storage. The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember whether you've unlocked gated content (like a sample chapter). This data stays in your browser and is never sent to a server.
What I don't collect
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No cookies
- No advertising pixels
- No personal data beyond what you explicitly provide
Third-party services
The site relies on a small number of third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Vercel — hosting. May collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type). Privacy policy
- Kit — email list management. Stores your email and subscription status. Privacy policy
- Cal.com — booking. Stores booking details. Privacy policy
- Google Fonts — font delivery. Google may log requests. Privacy policy
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data I hold about you. You can also withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email matt@matthewkay.com.
Data retention
Email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is removed from the active list. Booking information is retained only as long as needed to fulfil the purpose of the call.
